Story The game's story takes place after Crisis 3, and is a continuation of the storyline of the original title. The game begins with the player meeting up with an old friend who they haven't seen in a while. After some brief greetings, the friend's girlfriend is kidnapped by terrorist who plan to use the girl as a suicide bomber. The player is assigned a 'Time Duty' to help rescue her. Gameplay Like previous titles in the series, Time Crisis 4 is a cover-based shooting game. The player has a number of options when interacting with the game's environment: the player can look around the environment, watch for enemies, and use (lock onto) objects. Each of these are accessed by using the television's controller. The player can hold this controller in either hand, and use the analog stick in either hand to move around the scene. The player's character uses a basic Psi-laser pistol, and can perform several special moves using the Psi-Force, which is activated by pressing R1 (hold to perform more powerful moves). Weapons can be found lying around the environment, and the player can switch between these in-between levels using the Game Boy Advance. A shoulder button on the controller allows the player to switch weapons mid-level. A slow-motion feature allows the player to focus more on their actions, especially when performing special moves. The player character starts out with a limited amount of Psi-Force (6), and it can be used to perform a number of special moves: Forward Dash – a dash performed by pressing either left or right while the analog stick is moving. Dive Kick – a kick performed by pressing L1, R1, or L2 while the analog stick is moving. Leap – a jump performed by pressing L1, R1, or L2 while the analog stick is moving, and holding the button down. Barrel Roll – a roll performed by pressing either L1 or R1 while the analog stick is moving. Smoke Screen – after performing the forward dash, the player can press R2 to perform a smoke screen. The Psi-Force can be upgraded throughout the game to perform more powerful moves, and can also be upgraded by using any of the four power-ups that
